Format of the English Summative Assessment For Year 4, 5, 6

1️⃣7 parts in 1 paper.

2️⃣1 hour 15 minutes 

3️⃣Level: A1&A2

4️⃣OMR form

Part 1-4 Reading and Use of English- objective, 20 marks

Part 1️⃣: 5 short texts= 

5 questions (choose A,B,C)

▪️understand the main points ▪️understand specific details information 

Part 2️⃣: longer cloze texts, fill in the blanks = 4 questions (choose A,B,C)

▪️Guess the meaning of unfamiliar words from clues provided

▪️Recognise with little or no support typical features at word, sentence and text levels of a wide range of genres

Part 3️⃣: Comprehension, Linear or non-linear texts, 5 questions (choose A,B,C)

▪️Understand the main points in longer texts

▪️Understand specific details and information in longer texts

▪️Recognise with little support the attitude or opinion of the write in longer texts

Part 4️⃣: Multiple short texts, matching, 6 questions, (choose A,B,C)

▪️Understand the main points in extended texts

▪️Understand specific details and information in extended texts

▪️Guess the meaning of unfamiliar words from clues provided

▪️Recognise with little or no support typical features at word, sentence and text levels
